Meet the Hamiltons
Five generations of farming
Matt and Jenna Hamilton are fifth-generation farmers, and their three children, Benjamin, Jesse, and Abigail, are sixth. Matt’s family started farming tomatoes in the 1930s before his great grandfather, Jesse Hamilton, purchased their family’s first citrus grove in 1958.
Matt grew up working in the citrus industry, where he spent most summers and time after school in his family’s groves working and learning. Jenna is also a Fort Pierce native who was raised in the agriculture industry, with her parents owning and operating a nursery and landscaping business.
Upon graduating from University of Florida in 2008, Matt returned home to Fort Pierce to work for his family’s company, Hamilton Ag Service, with his father, Mark. Matt and Jenna met one year later and were married in 2014.
From family garden to local u-pick
The family garden has always been a staple for generations of Hamiltons. Watching their kids love grow for planting seeds and picking the crops led to Matt and Jenna to the idea of opening a u-pick for fellow families to enjoy.
Hamilton Farms is a seasonal u-pick located within one of the family’s working groves, where Bingos (similar to Cuties) and other varieties of citrus, strawberries, and flowers can be picked. In addition to the u-pick, there is fresh produce, seasonal citrus and other items for sale at the Hamilton Farms Market (on site).
Matt and Jenna look forward to sharing this special piece of their family with their community.
